Hey guys, guess who won today?!? [yes, i realize this could be responded in several ways...] the TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS. Thats right, Tennessee killed the UAB Blazers by a score of 17-10. The game was not as close as the score indicates. This means that Tennessee is now 1-0, aka UNDEFEATED. Only about half the teams in the nation can say that they are UNDEFEATED, and, to rub it in any sooner fans, the Oklahoma Sooners cannot. Anyway, for those of you who did not get to see the game, as most of you probably did not, seeing as it was regional coverage only, and you guys still up in fredericksburg are not in the region of Knoxville [Where Rocky Top is located, where Neyland Stadium was built, the home of the TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS], you'll note that UT was not playing their best football, not the football they are capable of [Ainge was overthrowing EVERYBODY [except for some of the defenders]], and the starters, such as our running back, Gerald Riggs Jr., did not play the whole game...you just wait till we upset the bigger teams, such as LSU and Florida-you'll see that our level of play differs with whomever we are playing. Anyway, Tennessee is 1-0, and you know what that means. Only 13 more victories, and UT is most likely the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! That is right, for all you non-believers and you who think that other teams are better [cough*kevin*cough], UT is going all the way this year. I realize putting this in print could be dangerous, seeing as it could be thrown in my face if UT were to lose a game. That is the beauty of it all though, because the Tennessee Volunteers will not lose a game this season.
And the game itself was AWESOME! I'm not sure any of you have any idea of the feeling, but it is amazing, just walking in there. Singing ROCKY TOP with 107,529 other people who feel the same way you do [actually, there were some UAB fans too. So subtract about 3 off that number, and you get the number of UT fans][for those of you who do not like math that number is 107,526]. And since it was the only game this year which I will be attending, I naturally spent nearly the entiring game screaming my head off [some of you know what thats like...], and drew many odd spares, some from kids thinking 'is that really a guy making that noise?' and others from the older folks thinking 'we have the ball. Your only supposed to scream when you are on defense.' Of course, i screamed whether we had the ball or not. Naturally. But it is amazing to scream with 107,526 people, when the other team has the ball on your 15, they are down by 7, it is 4 and 7, and there is just little under 4 minutes left in the game. Then know it is the screaming of 107,526 people that un-nerved the QB and wide reciever enough to make the QB to throw it high and the wide reciever to let it go right off his hands. Or, when they are driving and are threatening to score, only to see one Justin Harrel of the UT Vols [a defensive liner] intercept it and return it 29 yards before being taken down. That is 5 minutes of just screaming, yelling, clapping, and stomping. Or when the stadium is all silent, and you're the one to break the silence with a half minute screech. Great fun. Nothing like it in the world. You have not lived until you have gone to a UT football game; there is no better atmosphere not only in the world of college football, but in the world of ALL football, for nobody has more passion for their football than the fans of the TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS. Well, this post has gotten kinda long, and it hurts to talk too much, having yelled myself hoarse...
The only disappointing part was the fact that we were not in the shade, under a cloudless sky, the temperatures hitting above 90. But it was well worth it.
Yes, UT does have a marching band-Pride of the Southland Marching Band; it is awesome and amazing, the best collegiate band in the nation, and with a pregame tradition that is "unrivaled" in the world of sports.

I would like to see that pregame tradition.
The game sounds fun. I'll have to go t oone eventually and scream my head off even though I will have no idea why.
I read to "Go Vols" and stopped there. But looks like you had fun. So, yay.
what colin fails to mention is that the game was about 5 inches from being tied..thats right. if the pass was five inches lower it is tied
Jake, though you may not have known it, the very next drive Tennessee drove to within 20 yards of scoring another touchdown, before just kneeling to end the game.
Oh, by the way, the ball wasn't five inches lower.
colin that is not true because it was 10-17 when the pass was missed high moron
Jake, you are an idiot. It is true that after the ball was missed high Tennessee DID drive within 20 yards of the endzone. and it is also TRUE that the ball WAS NOT five inches lower. I have no idea what you are arguing. You have to read more carefully waht i write before you insult me. What exactly were you telling me i was telling an untrut about?
ok i thought u said they scored another one and it was 5 inches i watched it, and unfortunately for u and ur sucky team 20 yards from the endzone does not get u any points....
Jake, we did not need any points. If we had needed the points, we would not have taken needs. We had points enough to ensure the victory, there was no reason to run up the score. A win is a win, be it 56-0 or 17-10. Guess what, after the week is over, both winning teams are 1-0, no matter the score. And as you'll notice, the quality of Tennessee's play will improve drastically depending on how far into the season we are and who we are playing.
then ur comeback had no purpose, for had the pass been just lower you would have been in overtime...and what the hell kind of name is ainge
it doesn't matter if u came close to scoring hte fact still remains that u didn't and please remove that last comment or at least edit out the end
jake, my comeback was necessary, for you made it sound as if the game was closer than it was. Also, i had to enlighten you to the fact that tennessee almost scored again, and it would not have needed overtime
And ainge is a last name you moron. the same could be said about ________ [removed by request by jake ________]
