Oh yes. When we have mashed potatoes for lunch at school I just ask for like 3 scoops of them.

Its yummy. :)

mashed potatoes are good... but isn't football the most important part of Thanksgiving?

um no

To some, family is the most important part of thanksgiving. To others, it is football. And yet to others, it's the food. And still yet, to many more, it's the day that comes after thanksgiving.

But shouldn't it really just be the giving of thanks?

"The giving of thanks" can't be the thing for which you are most thankful on Thanksgiving.

You can't be thankful for giving thanks. However, you can be thankful for being able to give thanks.

I did not say, Kevin, that I was thankful for the ability to give thanks. Only that shouldn't the giving of thanks be the most important part of thanksgiving.

No. The giving of thanks should not be the most important part of Thanksgiving.

For one must be giving thanks to something. Therefore that thing (or things) to which one gives thanks becomes the most important part of the holiday.

I wholly disagree, Kevin.

Even though you don't care, and'll claim that nobody cares, I'll state that I disagree.
