Tyler, thats a sad, sad movie watching life you lead. Only watching movies about things that could happen? Don't you ever want to watch a fantastic (not meaning excellent) movie?

OMFG.

Thats all I have to say.

I think I see a movie marathon in your future.

Haha. Tyler. I know exactly what you mean...ok, I lied. I have no idea. I saw all the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings..but not many others. Because I just hate sitting down know I'll be dedicating 2 and half hours in front of a movie. Although I'm no stranger to wasting hours on the interenet. But when I sat down I didn't know it would happen.

But some movies just aren't worth seeing. In fact, a lot of movies aren't. I'll stick to my books.

Heh. I love sitting down and dedicating 2 and a half hours to a movie. Hell, I love sitting down and dedicating 13 and a half hours to movies. :-P

Movies have a quality to them that books cannot express. Movies require no thinking, its simply sitting back and observing. Reading requires though, something I didn't realize you were capable of, Colin.

Capable of what? I'm assuming you mean thinking, although you really didn't express it at all in that last sentence. And of course I'm capable of thinking. Only a fool would think otherwise.

And maybe thats the whole problem with movies. Most of them (not all) don't leave up to the imagination or to interpretation. Books do. They engage the mind.

Have any of you guys seen "Pi" or "Adaptation"? They're pretty effin' thought provoking.

Kevin said...

I've heard that Pi is thought provoking, but I've never seen it.

No. Not as of now.

And its movies like that, trusting your evaluation, caused me to say 'most' as opposed to 'all'. Some are. But so many of the mainstream Hollywood movies are not. Because a lot of people don't want to pay to think-just see whatever's on the big screen.
