Christmas Dinner

I gots tired of seeing that kitten everytime I opened this page. (not that it's not cute, Toni :p)

Anywho, Lauren and I are trying to put together a Christmas dinner this year, instead of everyone having to buy everyone else gifts.

So far the places/ideas we've thought of have been:
Sakura's
Carlos O' Kelly's
O'Charleys
A pot luck type thing
Olive Garden (Which I'm none to fond of, because they don't have reservations)

And what I'm wondering from you all is if you have any better or like any of these suggestions.
We'll send out an e-mail with the actual date, time, resturaunt, etc. when it gets closer to Christmas.

Any help will be rewarded with mine and Lauren's eternal affection!

Peace&Love

why dont we, instead of going to a restaurant, go to somebody's house and just chill out in the spirit of christmas and have a white elephant party? I just dont think going to a restaurant is "our kinda thing". I just dont think it would be that great.

Did Dannielle make a post!?!
Woo!

I like Tyler's idea, but that doesn't mean it can't be some kind of pot luck deal. Or, go to dinner, then go to someone's house. But we should definitely do something. A dinner is a good idea, but it'd be awkward, I think, to go and then just disperse.

Anyway, why not, in addition, we do some sort of Secret Santa. We did it last year, of course--with all of a weekend to do it. It'll save money--no present from one person to everyone--and just about everybody will get something. Plus, it makes for a good party activity thing, as people open their gifts.

Yep.

I like secret santa. maybe after dinner type we could go and hand out those prezzies.

the only resturant on there i object to is o'charleys. i just dont like that place a lot.

I do like the idea of going somewhere and having a Secret Santa party. The only problem with that is we need a house (thus the dinner) but if anyone is willing to offer their house, I'm more than willing to cook and have people bring Secret Santa presents and side dishes. Something like that would be quite nice.

yea, i didnt want to say that dinner would be awkward, but it would. We might be able to do my house, Idk yet ill ask

I don't know about secret santa. I never liked the idea.

And also the fact that I have like NO MONEY whatsoever right now. So the dinner sounds good for me. Wherever is fine for me-- but aparentally not O'Charley's. :(

Yeah, I'm not so big on the SS either. They're not very nice people, or so I've been told.

I don't really think a restaurant would be the best idea. Aside from the money, you only get to hang out with the couple people you're sitting next to instead of the group collectively, and knowing us crazy CGS kids, we might be a little more rowdy than those places are used to.

I'm willing to go if that's what people decide, but I'm just voting against it. I'd much rather bring some food to say, Tyler's house, and while away an evening there there than in Olive Garden.

well i wouldnt mind raising CGS hell in a restaurant somewhere--i suck awkwardness out of any situation!
besides i think the whole point of going to dinner was so that we could just pay for ourselves...and not presents for other people.
i definitely wouldnt mind chilling at tylers house though!

And I vote someone's house over a resturant too...if Tyler can't have it at his house I can ask my parents.

I also don't like the secret santa thing, not that I mind spending money and thought on a gift, I just don't really like the whole secret santa thing, but I'll participate if we do it. And yes, the SS has too much nazi involvment for my liking.

I'd prefer a party at someone's house rather than going to a restaurant, I never go to restaurants, I just don't like them (I guess I don't like a lot of things) and like Eric said, the limited seating at each table would be a problem.

the great thing about white elephant parties, is its better than secret santas, because you get to pick the gift in the game, and it could be a funny gift or not. and it doesnt always have to be new, expensive. THats the beauty of it. and for the hell of it,(just to keep up the fun in bashing the dinner idea) restaurants suck! i hate em'! lol
